Ezra Miller Is Still Hyped For The Flashpoint Movie
The DC live-action universe has had a fascinating time in theaters, starting when Zack Snyder unknowingly created it with Man of Steel. A few ensemble projects were quickly released, establishing both villains and heroes in the process. Justice League might not have been the critical and box office success it was expected to be, but it laid groundwork for major characters.
Ezra Miller's Flash was a scene stealer in Justice League, giving DC the sense of youth and naivety it so needed. His solo movie has been delayed a handful of times, but the actor doesn't seem discouraged. Miller recently spoke to the status of his solo movie, saying:
Nothing is ever certain in this world, but as certain as things get, we're making a fucking crazy-dope Flash movie. It's one of my great life dreams, and just the fact that we're on the way --- anyone who knows about Barry Allen knows he may arrive late, very late, but once he gets there, it's all solved. We have to trust.
While the still developing project has faced a number of setbacks, Ezra Miller seems to truly believe his Flash movie is still on the way. While there's no release date set and DC continues to work on other projects, he says it's only a matter of time before the solo flick begins production.
Ezra Miller's comments come from his recent interview with Playboy, as well as an already viral photoshoot that accompanied it. The 26 year old actor has two major franchise roles on the books, playing both The Flash and Credence Barebone in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. He sees how these types of blockbusters are made, and constantly change within the studio. So now it's all about patience.
When Justice League arrived in theaters in 2017, it didn't quite live up the hype. Joss Whedon finished the project after Zack Snyder departed, and the final result was a bit of a frankenstein film, with two visions duking it out. But one thing that didn't disappoint was Ezra Miller's real debut as Barry Allen/ The Flash.
An inexperienced and socially awkward metahuman, Barry's perspective often mirrored the audience's, and brought most of the movie's comedic moments. So his solo movie seemed all but inevitable.
Unfortunately, the Flash movie has suffered numerous setbacks in the last few years. After being announced, it lost two different directors in Seth Grahame-Smith and Rick Famuyiwa, who both departed the project due to creative differences. It has been pushed back a few times, with its current estimation being at least 2012. But Ezra Miller, Kiersey Clemmons, and Billy Crudup are still attached, and it'll hopefully also include some cameos by other DC favorites.
