New Ant-Man And The Wasp Video Shows Stan Lee Filming Funny, Alternate Takes Of His Cameo

After the shocking events of Avengers: Infinity War, The Russo Brothers' untitled Avengers 4 movie couldn't come fast enough. But there was over a year and two blockbusters to wait, starting with Peyton Reed's Ant-Man and The Wasp. The sequel gave Paul Rudd another chance to lead a movie, while promoting Evangeline Lilly's Hope van Dyne to a bonafide superhero in the process. Like any self-respecting Marvel property, Ant-Man and The Wasp also contained a cameo by legendary comic writer and iconic Stan Lee. It was a great moment that saw Lee's car shrink before his eyes, but it turns out he tried out a variety of lines on set. Check it out below, as Paul Rudd recounts the experience firsthand.

Who knew Stan Lee was so quick with one liners? It looks like there were a ton of options for the Ant-Man and The Wasp editor to choose from, although the line about the 1960's was the one that resonated the most with the folks on set, including Paul Rudd himself.

This new video comes to us from Fandango, with Paul Rudd talking about his experience in Ant-Man and The Wasp. While Paul Rudd didn't personally share the scene with Stan Lee, it looks like he was privy to the filming process. So much so that Lee's quick line about his experience in the 1960s became a recurring joke on the set of the sequel. There's just something about the Marvel legend taking oodles of drugs during the summer of love that is too enjoyable to pass up.

Stan Lee's cameos go all the way back to 2000's X-Men. They're moment that Marvel fans look forward to, acknowledging the main who created so many of the brand's iconic characters. These cameos range in quality from simple to delightful, with Lee often able to stretch his comedic muscles and get a big laugh during each blockbuster.

The comic legend's role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe recently took an interesting turn, during his quick cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. In it, Stan Lee was revealed to be a member of The Watchers, and the cameos have all apparently been the same character. Specifically, he mentions playing a delivery man in Captain America: Civil War, potentially opening up more narrative possibilities for Lee in the future.

Marvel fans and cinephiles can look forward to two more Stan Lee cameos, before Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe concludes. First up will be Carol Danver's unconventional origin story inCaptain Marvel. After that, he'll presumably appear in Avengers 4, which will hopefully have an official title before too long.

Ant-Man and The Wasp will arrive digitally on October 2nd, and for physical release on October 16th. In the meantime, check out our 2018 release list to plan your next trip to the movies.

Is The Flash Movie Finally Getting Off The Ground?

When Warner Bros announced its initial slate of DC Extended Universe movies post-Man of Steel, The Flash was in that lineup. Since then, Ezra Miller's version of Barry Allen cameoed in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, and made his full debut in Justice League, but the Scarlet Speedster's own movie has hit a lot of setbacks over the years. However, perhaps things are finally falling back into place for The Flash, as it's rumored that the project could begin filming next February and be finished three months later.

This latest production update comes from Omega Underground, which noted that following the recent reveal that The Flash is eyeing a February 5, 2019 start date, Warner Bros is hoping to wrap things up by the following May. It's worth noting that earlier this year, it was reported that Birds of Prey is expected to start filming in January, so assuming the production details surrounding both of these DCEU movies are true, that means The Flash's principal photography will overlap with Birds of Prey's. For now it's worth taking all of this with a grain of salt, but if you've been waiting for The Flash finally get off the ground, it seems it's closer than ever to happening.

The Flash has been through a lot of behind-the-scenes turmoil since it was announced, particularly with directors. In 2015, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter's Seth Grahame-Smith was hired to write and direct The Flash, but in April of 2016, he dropped out due to creative differences. Two months later, Dope's Rick Famuyiwa was tapped to replace Smith, but by October 2016, he'd also dropped out due to creative differences. The project then found itself in a holding pattern for over a year, requiring Warner Bros to scrap its March 2018 release. But good news finally arrived this past March when it was confirmed that Game Night duo John Francis-Daley and Jonathan Goldstein would helm the superhero blockbuster. It's a step in the right direction, but there's a lot more work to be done until we can be sure The Flash will indeed head to the silver screen.

At the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that The Flash movie was being called Flashpoint, making it an adaptation of the 2011 storyline of the same name that saw Barry Allen waking up in a radically altered version of the main DC Comics timeline. However, in recent months it's been said (but not officially confirmed) that the movie is no longer called Flashpoint, indicating that the project is being turned back into a more straightforward, standalone Flash movie rather than a universe-shattering crossover event. John Francis-Daley and Jonathan Goldstein will reportedly take The Flash in a more lighthearted direction, with Back to the Future supposedly being used as a guide. Beyond that, no plot details have been revealed yet, but along with Ezra Miller putting the red costume back on, Kiersey Clemons and Billy Cruddup are expected to appear as Iris West and Henry Allen, respectively.

People On The Internet Are Blaming Godzilla For Japanese Island Disappearance

An incredibly odd occurrence off the coast of Japan has people wondering if a giant lizard might be to blame. A small uninhabited land mass 500 meters off the coast of a small fishing village named Sarufutsu has seemingly completely vanished from the ocean. The complete destruction of a Japanese landmass? There's really only one reason something like that could happen. Godzilla.

It seems that recently, a small island that used to be visible off Japan no longer is. This is causing some to go "search" for the island in order to see what happened. Apparently, a Japanese author who once produced a book about Japanese islands noticed that the spot, called Esanbehanakitakojima, didn't seem to be there anymore. Residents of the fishing village seemed to confirm that while they could previously see it from the shore, they no longer could.

While some seem to be blaming constant erosion from wind, or rising sea levels caused by climate change, others have a more insidious theory. Japan's largest contribution to pop culture, Godzilla.

From a geographic perspective, the island is actually important as CNN reports it used to mark the northern border of Japan. With it no longer really there, there could be disputes about where Japan's sovereign territory ends and Russia's starts.

The Godzilla theory is an especially fun one as November 3 marked the anniversary of the wide release of the original Godzilla movie in Japan, and is recognized in the island nation as the character's birthday. Perhaps he took the opportunity of the anniversary to reward himself with a little snack.

Of course, there are other theories about what may have happened to the island. If it wasn't Godzilla, then clearly it was a James Bond villain or some other nefarious evil mastermind showing off the awesome power of his super island destroying death ray.

As officials begin their search for the missing island, I certainly hope they find it. It should be right where they left it, just under the surface of the water. The last time the island was surveyed, several decades ago, it was apparently only a few feet above sea level, so the fact that it's gone from view shouldn't honestly be all that shocking.

Of course, if they can't find it where it should be, we'll have to start wondering just what Godzilla has been up to. If they can't locate the giant lizard, they should be able to catch him during the upcoming press tour of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, the new film starring the kaiju beast that will hit theaters in May.
